Katie Burke

Katie Burke is co-founder of Desktop.com, a Web-based applications provider for consumers and developers. Prior to co-founding Desktop.com, Burke helped catapult Four11/RocketMail into the industry limelight in her role as director of business development and marketing. She was an original member of Four11's product team, instrumental in creating and launching Rocketmail.com, the Web-based email service that later became Yahoo! Mail.

In October 1997, Yahoo! Corporation purchased Four11 and Burke joined Yahoo! as director of production responsible for building the company's Web-based communications and personal productivity tools. In this position, Ms. Burke managed the development of some of Yahoo!'s most popular services, including Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Calendar, Yahoo! Address Book and Yahoo! Small Business.

Prior to joining Four11, Burke held a variety of product development, marketing and business development positions with NetDynamics (acquired by Sun Microsystems) and America Online. She also worked for First Boston Credit Suisse.

Burke holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in economics from Stanford University.
