Glory Johnson
Glory
Johnson is vice president of Rapidtext,
a leading developer of voice-to-text applications. Johnson co-founded
Rapidtext in 1988, and today oversees operations of the company.
Johnson is also heavily involved in sales of captioning and timecoding
services to the entertainment and Internet industries. Previously
she worked at StenoCAT, a court reporting software company and served
as international sales manager and advisory board member, involved
in product development and key customer relations.
Johnson
also managed her own court-reporting firm from 1979 until merging
the company into a legal services consolidation company in 1997.
She specialized in applying the latest technology to deliver unique
capabilities with her court reporting services. Before starting
her own court-reporting firm, she worked as a court reporter in
the Greater Los Angeles Area Superior and Municipal Courts and taught
classes at South Coast College of Court Reporting.
Johnson's
previous employment includes managing the Southern California Office
of the Maritime Trades Commission and as the assistant to one of
the head publicists at Universal Studios, working with campaign
advertising, trade paper releases and public relations. Johnson
is a founding director of the D.E.A.F. Foundation, and was previously
a member of several technology committees of the National and California
Court Reporters Association. She has also worked with the State
of California on court reporting standards and issues and has been
a speaker on real-time applications for continuing education credits
for national, state and international organizations.
Johnson
graduated from Whitley College of Court Reporting and holds a degree
from South Coast College of Court Reporting. She also studied at
Orange Coast College.
